Intelligent Asset Management Day 2025 – Event Recap
25 June 2025
On May 21, 2025, experts from the fields of maintenance and asset management gathered at the SAP S.Factory in Walldorf to join SAP and Evora in exploring the future of digital maintenance. The focus of the Intelligent Asset Management Day 2025 was on innovative technologies, proven best practices, and inspiring success stories centered around SAP Intelligent Asset Management.
The SAP S.Factory brings SAP solutions for the digital supply chain to life. It showcases use real-world use cases demonstrating how SAP helps companies transform their supply chain processes—from planning to operations. In a realistic shopfloor environment featuring a comprehensive SAP landscape and real machine integration, visitors can engage hands-on and gain insights into how they can optimize within their own organizations and make the digital supply chain a reality in everyday operations.

The challenges are immense: ever-increasing demands for availability, an aging workforce, a severe shortage of skilled labor, and processes that are still paper-based in many places. More than 60% of companies still operate analog—in a world that has long since gone digital.
But this is exactly where the opportunity lies: With the right technologies, pressure turns into real progress. Modern SAP solutions like Field Service Management (FSM), Service & Asset Manager (SSAM), and Asset Performance Management (APM) make it possible.
The results speak for themselves:
- Up to 40% lower maintenance costs
- 30% fewer warranty claims
- 20% higher asset utilization
However, digitalization is not an end in itself. It only unfolds its full potential when used with purpose—guided by a clear strategy, measurable benefits, and real added value for both people and machines.
Dr. Sandra Maus (SAP) demonstrated how companies can transform their supply chains into intelligently orchestrated networks—leveraging AI, real-time data, and integrated processes. With SAP Business AI and the digital assistant Joule, processes become interconnected, decisions are automated, and efficiency gains of up to 30% can be achieved.
The results:
- Improved on-time delivery performance
- Reduced inventory levels and downtime
- Faster planning and lower maintenance costs

In an engaging panel discussion, three industry experts explored this very question:
Fabian Sommer (DSAG Spokesperson for Intelligent Asset Management), Ruben Toelle (SAP), and Florian Ganz (Evora) discussed how digitalization, artificial intelligence, and automation can make maintenance not only more efficient, but also sustainable and resilient.
The session offered practical insights, diverse perspectives, and concrete solution approaches—ranging from the integration of smart technologies to the critical question of how companies can successfully drive cultural change in maintenance.
Bernhard Kontschieder (Miba) offered a behind-the-scenes look at the implementation of SAP Field Service Management at Miba. By integrating mobile maintenance, the company has already saved approximately 900 hours.
